CONCEPT RESTAURANT

APRIL 2022

Prior to starting this design, we split into groups and brainstormed the top five key components of a restaurant. At the end of the exercise, we were to pick which component was the most vital to the concept of a restaurant, and then design a restaurant without this element.

These are the notes I took while my group was discussing what makes a restaurant a restaurant.

At the end, I quickly wrote down some of my ideas for this concept restaurant.

MY CONCEPT RESTAURANT

This concept restaurant, DIYR (Do-It-Yourself Restaurant), gives patrons the opportunity to learn new recipes, improve their cooking skills, and enjoy a delicious meal. Patrons select the item they would like to make from the tablet, and are given a grocery list. The restaurant is connected to one of the on-campus markets, where they will then purchase the necessary food. The 'information hub' located above the oven, walks patrons through the recipe in their desired level of detail. Upon completing the meal, patrons can then enjoy their meal at the dining tables located in their cooking rooms.
